The Cliniko integration lets you push Motics notes to the patient's file in Cliniko. Phone Agent can also use the same connection to work with your Cliniko diary. You connect Cliniko once with an API key. Then you choose which agents use it.
Before you start
You need a Cliniko user that can create API keys.
Sign in to Motics and to Cliniko.
Create a Cliniko API key
In Cliniko, select your name in the bottom-left corner.
Select My information.
Go to API Keys. If Cliniko asks you to enable API keys, select Yes.
Select Add an API key.
Type a name for the key, for example "Motics".
Select Create API key.
Copy the key immediately.
Caution: Cliniko shows the key only once. If you lose the key, create a new one.
Note: The key must include the Cliniko shard suffix at the end, for example "-uk1". Copy the whole key.
If you cannot see API Keys in Cliniko, your Cliniko role cannot create keys. Ask a Cliniko admin or the practice owner.
Connect Cliniko in Motics
Go to Settings.
Select Integrations.
Find Cliniko in Electronic Health Record & Patient Management.
Select Connect.
In API Key, paste the Cliniko API key.
In Use this connection for, select the agents that will use Cliniko.
Scribe. Push notes to Cliniko and choose Cliniko patients in sessions.
Phone. Let Phone Agent use Cliniko.
Select Save.
Motics shows the message Cliniko settings saved. The Cliniko row shows Scribe connected, Phone connected, or both.
Note: Each agent can use one EHR at a time. If an agent already uses another EHR, Motics shows Replace agent connection?. Read the message. Then select Continue to move that agent to Cliniko. For more information, see Choose which agent uses each EHR connection.
Note: If Phone shows Unavailable for this account, your account cannot connect Phone Agent to Cliniko.
Push a note to Cliniko
Generate the note.
Select Push to with the Cliniko logo.
Check the patient.
Push the note.
For the full steps, see Push a Summary to Cliniko.
Choose the patient and appointment before you record
You can choose the Cliniko patient when you start a session. You can also link the session to a Cliniko appointment. Then Motics adds the note to that appointment. See Link a session to a Cliniko appointment.
Change or remove the connection
Change the API key. Go to Settings, then Integrations. Select Manage on the Cliniko row. Paste the new key in API Key. Then select Save. To keep the current key, leave API Key blank.
Stop one agent using Cliniko. Clear Scribe or Phone in Use this connection for. Then select Save. Motics keeps the key. If no agent uses the key, the row shows Credential saved.
Remove the key. Select Remove credentials. Then select Yes, Remove.
Caution: Remove credentials disconnects every agent that uses this connection, including Phone Agent.
To delete the key in Cliniko, go to My information, then API Keys.
If something goes wrong
The row shows "Reconnect required". Cliniko rejected the saved key. Select Manage. Paste a new key. Then select Save. See also Reconnect Cliniko or Nookal.
"API Keys" is missing in Cliniko. Your Cliniko role cannot create keys. Ask a Cliniko admin.
The patient is not found when you push. Check the spelling. The patient must exist in Cliniko.
